About me

I was born in 1977 and I am originally from Denmark. Having lived in London England, Valencia in Spain and Rhode Island in US I am very much a girl of the world, however I have now returned to Denmark. I married my husband Michael on 23. August 2008. And on the 2nd of July 09 we had our beautiful and completely organic baby boy.

Why this blog?

I used to eat whatever came my way, or in college what ever I could afford. I used to love scented candles, perfume, make up, creams, lotions and potions, ready meals, fluffy white bread and takeaways. I loved easy meals and shake a cake type things.

I did think about the environment at the time, but I was a big time consumer even so.

One day it occurred to me that the reason I felt unhealthy, had asthma and allergies (only one in the family), had constant stomach pains and looked like I had swallowed a beach ball could be because of what I ate.

I started the Stone Age Diet where you can only eat veggies, red grapefruit, bananas, fish, chicken and game – almost nothing else and all organic. In less than 2 months I lost 12 kilo (26 lb), my eye balls were whiter and my skin and hair looked healthier -oh my the compliments rolled inn. I slowly introduced other food items, alcohol, natural sugar and such again. I did put on some weight, BUT and this is the most amazing thing ever – I have not taken my asthma and allergy medication for 5 years! I actually do not even have any of it anymore, even the emergency inhalator which I kept when I could not breath. Really, this is the reason I am kind of devoted to the whole organic healthy life style, and the reason I will try my very best for my son to grow up like that too.

Today I eat whole food whenever possible, organic when I can – and I try hard, no white- pasta, white bread, white rice, sugar (only stevia, agave and honey) and no processed foods. We have no chemicals in the house, no oxy clean, no perfumed soaps and sprays or cleaners (see recipes for cleaning on this blog). We recycle as much as we currently can (you can always take it further) and treat the nature with the respect it deserves.

What you find on this blog, is my thoughts and findings in trying to keep my family chemical free and the hope of making an organic baby (succeeded) who will grow up organic too and with care for the planet.

Everything that you find on this blog is my opinion, supported with articles and research. I have studied pros and cons, but I urge you to make up your own mind as one always should. There is always two sides of the same coin, so don’t hold anything against me.
